*BABBACOMBE, DEVON* - Georgina, Baroness Mount-Temple (1822-1901)
Inscription:- name only.
Sculptor:- made from Bronze, with granite and limestone birdbath.
Unveiled:- 1903.
Notes:- after her husband died in 1894, the Baroness moved permanently to their holiday home in Babbacombe and invested much of her time to animal welfare. She was a great humanitarian who campaigned for most of her life and even now, people regularly place fresh flowers in her hand on the statue; Grade II listed in 1994.

Sculptor:- I didn't get the bloke's name.
Unveiled:- 9th July, 2015.
Notes:- I was expecting loads of statues in Palma but there were very few so I decided to have a picture taken next to a chap posing as a gold-plated miner in one of the squares. He gave me a surly look when I stood next to him, but I put a € into his pot after the photo-shoot yo cheer him up (mind you it took about 10 tries before I was happy with the lighting and depth of focus).

Inscription:- "I am conscious of having served England as I served my own country" - there is also a list of all his commendations on the back of the pedestal and an inscription in French on a slab on the floor (with details of the sculptor and unveiling).

*BURY ST EDMUNDS, SUFFOLK* - James Reynolds (1686-1739)
Inscription:- "The Right Honourable James Reynolds Esquire was Chief Baron of the Exchequer and one of the members of Parliament for Bury St Edmunds.
On the right of the font is the memorial to his first wife, Mary. His second wife, Alice, erected this memorial to him, which depicts him in fine clothes, full wig and chain. He died in 1738 ages 53."

Inscription:- "Jack Judge accompanied by a WW1 soldier - Inspired to compose the famous marching song "It's a Long Way to Tipperary" - He was the first to sing it publicly in 1912 at the Grand Theatre in Stalybridge, the town of its conception. Inscription:- "Honorary Freeman of the city of Liverpool. Member of Parliament for Liverpool 1869 to 1880 and for Carnarvonshire 1880 to 1895. A guardian of the poor in Liverpool for thirty-five years. A founder of the University of Liverpool and of the University of Wales. Instituted the training school for nurses and brought trained nurses into the homes of the poor and suffering first in Liverpool and later throughout the country. *LIVERPOOL* - Sir Arthur Bower Forwood (1836-1898)

*ONCHAN, ISLE OF MAN* - Steve Hislop (1962-2003)
Inscription:- "Steve Hislop 1962-2003 - This statue was unveiled by Geoff Duke OBE on 5th June 2005.
Born in the Scottish Border town of Hawick, and raised at Southdean, Steve began his working and racing career in nearby Denholm, but latterly he lived in Onchan on the Isle of Man. One of the fastest and most stylish riders of his generation, he was respected and admired by his rivals and legions of fans. Tragically, at the age of 41 years, Steve was killed in a helicopter accident at Carlenrig, Teviothead, near his former home town. At the time he was the reigning British Superbike Champion."

The statue is in a small memorial garden and has a commanding position on Onchan Head, with superb views looking over Douglas Bay.

*MANCHESTER* - John Dalton (1766-1844)
Inscription:- "John Dalton. A Cumberland man worked in Manchester from 1792 until his death. He made many advances in meteorology, the physics and chemistry of gases and the theory of combustion. He is remembered above all else for his concept of atomic theory and atomic weights published in his 'New System of Chemical Philosophy'. 1808-1810.
These stones formed part of the memorial to John Dalton at Ardwick Cemetery and were moved here when the building of the College began in 1961."
