*BRIXHAM* - William III (1650-1702)

Inscription:- "William Prince of Orange, afterwards William III ~ King of Great Britain & Ireland, landed near this spot 5th November 1688 and issued his famous declaration ~ "The liberties of England and the Protestant religion I will maintain."
Erected by public subscription and dedicated to the town of Brixham ~ Foundation stone laid 5th Novbr 1888, by his Excellency Count de Bylandt ~ Unveiled 5th November 1889, by C.A.Bentinck, esq. J.P. ~ The Right Hon Lord Churston ~ Chairman of Committee ~ Charles Atkins, Secretary.
Engelands vrijheid door Oranje hersteld (England's freedom restored by Orange)."
Sculptor:- W & T Wills; white marble on granite pedestal.
Unveiled:- see inscription.
Notes:- William of Orange landed at Brixham harbour when he arrived in England to take the throne from Charles II in 1688; Grade II Listed in 1949.

*BABBACOMBE, DEVON* - Georgina, Baroness Mount-Temple (1822-1901)

Inscription:- name only.
Sculptor:- made from Bronze, with granite and limestone birdbath.
Unveiled:- 1903.
Notes:- after her husband died in 1894, the Baroness moved permanently to their holiday home in Babbacombe and invested much of her time to animal welfare. She was a great humanitarian who campaigned for most of her life and even now, people regularly place fresh flowers in her hand on the statue; Grade II listed in 1994.

*PALMA, MALLORCA* - King James I of Aragon (1208-1276)

Inscription:- unclear (and in Spanish).
Sculptor:- - unknown; made from bronze.
Unveiled:- unknown.
Notes:- Statue is on a large pedestal of artificial rock, with a figure of a soldier at the front; James was King of Mallorca from 1231 until his death.

*PALMA, MALLORCA* - Living Statue; The Gold Miner

Inscription:- none.
Sculptor:- I didn't get the bloke's name.
Unveiled:- 9th July, 2015.
Notes:- I was expecting loads of statues in Palma but there were very few so I decided to have a picture taken next to a chap posing as a gold-plated miner in one of the squares. He gave me a surly look when I stood next to him, but I put a € into his pot after the photo-shoot yo cheer him up (mind you it took about 10 tries before I was happy with the lighting and depth of focus).
