*STALYBRIDGE, CHESHIRE* - Jack Judge (1872-1938)

Inscription:- "Jack Judge accompanied by a WW1 soldier - Inspired to compose the famous marching song "It's a Long Way to Tipperary" - He was the first to sing it publicly in 1912 at the Grand Theatre in Stalybridge, the town of its conception. Unveiled 16th December 2005 by Councillor Frank Robinson"

*ASHTON-UNDER-LYNE, LANCASHIRE* - John Harrison - Uncle John the Pieman (??-1906)

Inscription:- "The Ashton Market Trader - 'Uncle John' the Pieman - John Harrison was well-known throughout Ashton for his generosity to the poor during hard times in the late 1800's. Unveiled 23rd September 2005 by The Civic Mayor of Tameside, Councillor Jacqueline Lane."

*ASHTON-UNDER-LYNE, LANCASHIRE* - Hugh Mason (1817-1886)

Inscription:- just name and dates.
Sculptor:- Joseph W. Swynnerton.
Unveiled:- September 1887.
Notes:- Grade II listed (July 1987); bronze on granite pedestal; over £1,600 was raised by public subscription for the statue; originally located in Chester Square in Ashton-under-Lyne, moving to its current location in the mid 1990s; more on Mason here.
